Science Exam Paper

This morning, Richard and I went to Woodlands North Plaza to buy breakfast. On the way home, I saw a cat (some distance away from the ATM machines). The cat was cleaning its genital parts using its mouth and tongues, spreading his legs. Richard said,"the cat is so flexible..."

Indeed, how beautiful and wonderful is the creation of God, the creator of this universe, of all that is seen and unseen... miraculous, it is awesome!

God make HUMANS different from animals. Animals walk on four legs, have no hands. Humans have hands and mouth. Animals cannot talk, but have mouth, their multi-purpose 'weapon'... Open its mouth, the teeth is what makes all the difference between the cats and humans, the animals and human as well...

Speaking of humans and animals, these are all lives, animals/mammals that can move. They are called living things. Something really surprises me. The real meaning of living things!

These are some questions from Clara's exam papers. I AM NOT interested to ARGUE about who is right and who is wrong. Right or wrong does not matter to me anymore. MARKS, as long as I know, and as long as I had explained to Clara, I won't pursue the matter or make a fuss of it. But this is to show, not to complain!

All living things can move. The Answer is TRUE. Clara's answer is False. Confusing.

Correct answer written beside the question marked wrong. All Living Things Can Move.

Half a mark gone. What is half a mark? Want me to go all the way to school tell the teacher, "Hey this is wrong, argue and 'tell' the teacher story?"

Anyway she passed, though it was not flying colours.... and Marks, Marks and Marks.... lets see, is marks really the main concern of the life of students.... 'a question mark'!

But look further, some more mistakes...

I wonder what Qi Hua meant by "Creativity is the birthright of every child"....

Similarity between a tadpole and a fish -- Clara's answer was: They can swim.
It was marked wrong.

Can tadpole swim? Definitely. This is not similarity based on physical appearances, but based on the imagination, the thoughts, the knowledge of the organisms behind the drawing.

The answer for this question (similarity between a tadpole and a fish) -- teacher's accepted answer: Both of them have tails.

Well, I agreed both have tails, then both have eyes, also acceptable answer then!

The next part of the question was "Named one difference between the tadpole and the fish."
Clara's Answer: The fish has a short tail but the tadpole has a longer tail.
Teacher's Answer: Fish has scales but tadpole don't.

............ How can teacher be wrong? Teacher LEI! I am not a teacher, I am a parent.... ACCEPT. This is a 'fact' -- the qualification of the teachers....

This question: Ruben placed some worms in an empty shoebox. Then he covered half the box with its lid. The other half of the box that was uncovered was shone with a lamp as shown in the diagram below. (a) Where will most of the worms be found after 20 minutes? (b) Give a reason for your answer in (a).

Most of the worms will be found in Area A. Correct.
Clara's reason: Worms stay in the dark so people will not step on them.

Teachers have answer sheet when they marked exam papers. But when it comes to science, it is not like Maths, English and Chinese Multiple choice questions. I wonder if the teacher how what is really SCIENCE!

Teacher's reason: The worms respond to changes in lighting by crawling to area A, which is darker.

This is just like asking:
Why do you close your eyes when you see strong light (eg. when you just walk out of a dark room) or when something moved in front of your eyes?
(C) I close my eyes to protect my eyes from the bright light or moving objects that tried to get near my eyes.
(T) I close my eyes because I respond to changes when there is a change in the intensity of light, when there is a change of movement...??????

Common sense. Is the teacher being rigid or have no common sense.

Are there any more mistakes, I do not know. But these are the obvious ones which I managed to flip through and spotted it... There are one more which I did not show....

Do you know what is the importance of half a mark? It determines whether you pass or fail. It determines whether your report book is going to have all blue or a 'one' or 'two' red among the blues. This is called 'pass' or 'fail', and how many subjects you pass or fail, it is going to determine whether you get promoted to the next level. This is all the olden days...

My mother need to go to school to ASK the teacher for leniency, to beg the teacher to let my brother pass his English, not one time, not two times. If he failed English, cannot be promoted to the next level. That is the importance of HALF a MARK......

And for NO GOOD ENGLISH, 'Go Fly Kite'......
