The Bad Guys Of TMNT

Baxter Stockman (picture below), one-time founder of the cutting edge technology company Stocktronics, is a genius but insane inventor who has worked time and time again allied to the Foot. However, every time one of Stockman's crazy technological schemes fouls up and causes the Shredder to fail results in Stockman's comeuppance at the hands of the cruel man-mountain known as the Hun! And each time the Hun gets through punishing Stockman there is a little bit less of the inventor to be seen!

The Foot (picture below) is a global criminal organization based in New York City whose history, traditions and practices are based on the ways of ninjitsu... but twisted towards evil ends. Led by the Shredder, the Foot is made up of many divisions, including the Foot Soldier, Elite Guard, Technicians, Mystics, Geneticists and the lowly street thugs called the Purple Dragons Gang.

To all appearances Oroku Saki is a wealthy, respectable businessman and Japanese nobleman. However, looks can be deceiving! For Saki's alter ego is none other than the infamous, powerufl and savage criminal mastermind called the Shredder(picture below)! A true ninja master, the Shredder has taken all that he has learned of the ancient arts throughout the ages and used them for his own evil ends. One glance at his multi-bladed armour explains how the Shredder got his name!

Shredder is pure evil. He is a Ninja master whose goals include conquering the world and destroying the TMNT.

Pictures Of Good Guys In TMNT II

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are martial arts masters who live in the city's sewers. When they aren't eating pizza they're fighting crime and Shredder's evil foot ninja.

You think Raphael has a temper? Well, Casey Jones makes Raphael look absolutely mellow! Which may explain why the two have become the best of buddies! Casey is a vigilante who stalks the mean streets of New York looking for trouble... and when he finds it the bad guys better bewaqre because Casey is out to right wrongs and doesn't mind bustin ga few bad guy heads in the process! With his trademark hockey mask and golf bag full of sports equipment, Casey is one tough hombre! Still, this hot-head has a soft spot for April O'Neil - he's just too shy to tell her so!

Master Splinter (picture below) is the Turtles' sensei - their teacher - who has taught them their ninjitsu skills and bushido (way of the warrior ) philosophy. He is the rat who mutated alongside the baby turtles and rescued them and brought them up as though they were his own children, giving them the love and care they needed as they were growing up. Before mutating, Splinter was once the pet rat of a ninja master, Hamato Yoshi. It wsa through watching and mimicking Yoshi's martial arts moves that the little rat learned ninjitsu.

Master Splinter is the TMNT teacher and advisor. This martial arts rat taught the turtles everything they know about the art of Ninjitsu.

Just as smart and scientifically savvy as Donatello, April (Picture below) is a trained scientist and computer engineer who innocently worked for th evillainous madman and brilliant inventor, Baxter Stockman. Since helping the Turtles in their first battle against Stockman and his rampaging Mouse robots, April has become a good friend and something of a big sister to the four green teens. She also runs her own business - Second Time Around - an antiques and vintage clothing store. She also has a bit of warm spot in her heart for Casey Jones, even if he often irritates her!

April's one of the best friends of the TMNTs, who have saved her life several times. She's had careers as both a writer and lab assistant and now runs her father's antique store.

Fun Facts About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

A new computer animated film of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is expected to be released in 2007.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were first created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, as a black and white comic book in 1984.

The four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are all named after famous Renaissance artists. Michaelangelo should have been spelled "Michelangelo" but neither of the writers had a spell checker when they first created the comic.

The strange substance that gave the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles their special powers is supposed to be the same substance that gave the superhero, Daredevil, his special powers.

Donatello is the brains of the TMNT. He's well versed in mathematics, engineering and computers and can fix just about anything. Donatello wears a purple bandana.

Leonardo is the TMNT leader. He is focused, always prepared and takes the art of Ninjitsu very seriously. He wears a blue bandana.

He's the most laid back of the TMNT and loves to party and have fun. Michaelangelo is always upbeat and helps lighten up the others with his sense of humor. He wears an orange bandana and loves pizza.

Raphael wears the red bandana and is the darkest of the four turtles. He can be short-tempered and anti-social and loves rap and punk music.

Mikey is a natural born athlete, which is a good thing since instead of training he 'd rather be playing video games and reading comic books! While he loves to be the centre of attention, Mikey's sense of humour and easy-going nature make him the group's natural peacemaker. He's also a pop culture sponge who can never cram enuogh television, DVDs, CDs, video games, comic books and magazines into the day! Splinter selected teh whirling nunchaku as the weapon best suited to this turtle's buoyant spirit.

Leo is the unofficial leader of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle brothers and so dedicated to his ninjitsu training that the other turtles jokingly refer to him as "Splinter Junior". Although he likes to take the lead and come up with battle strategies, Leo is also a team player and will listen to suggestions that are the best for the group. Leonardo's weapons of choice are the twin katana blades, swords of ancient polished steel. When not training, Leo likes to meditate and listen to traditional Japanese music.

The brains of the group, Donatello has a natural ability to understand how things work, which is good, since he's always taking things apart and putting them back together - correctly! Donnie is quite the inventor as well, having either invented or customized the Turtles' Shell Cells, Battle Shell, Tunneller, Night-vision Binoculars and Sewer Jacuzzi! He can build high-speed vehicles and turtlized accessories out of little more than scraps and trash salvaged from a junk yard. Because Donatello is stout of heart, Splinter gave him the stout bo staff as his signature weapon.

Brash, restless, opinionated, stubborn and temperamental, Raphael is nearly the very opposite of his brother Leonardo in almost every regard (which is why the sparks often fly between the two brothers!) Raphael loves the physical aspects of ninjitsu - he loves to fight! - and trains with single-minded intensity. The hot-headed Raphael likes to fight first and ask questions later. HIs flashing twin steel sais and his hair-trigger temper make Raphael a fearsome and fearless warrior.

Characters In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Leonardo

The de facto leader of the Turtles, Leonardo is courageous, decisive, and a disciplined student of martial arts. As a strict adherent to Bushido, he has a very strong sense of honor and justice. He wields a pair of katana. He is named after Leonardo da Vinci. Starting with the animated series, he is portrayed with a blue mask.

Raphael

The team "anti-hero", Raphael has an aggressive nature and seldom hesitates to throw the first punch. His personality can be alternately fierce, sarcastic, and full of angst. He wears a red mask and wields a pair of sai. He is named after Raphael Sanzio.

Michelangelo

The easy-going and free-spirited Michelangelo provides much of the comic relief. While he loves to read comics and play video games, this Turtle also has an adventurous side and a reputation as a practical jokester. He has an unhealthy addiction to pizza. He wields the nunchaku. He is named after Michelangelo Buonarroti. Starting with the animated series, he wears an orange mask.

Donatello
The brilliant scientist, inventor, and technology geek, Donatello has a reputa
tion as something of a wiseacre. He is perhaps the mostnon-violent Turtle, preferring to use his intellect to solve conflicts. He wields the bo. He is named after Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi. Starting with the animated series, he wears a purple mask.

Splinter

The Ninja Turtles' sensei and adoptive father, who happens to be a mutated rat. He was trained in ninjitsu by his Master, Hamato Yoshi.

April O'Neil
A sensible
yet daring human companion of the Turtles. She embarks on many of the Turtles' adventures and aids them by doing the work that the Turtles cannot do in public. In the original comics (and the later 2003 TV series) she was a lab assistant to Baxter Stockman. Her occupation was changed to news reporter for the first TV series so that she could be integrated into the storyline more easily.

Casey Jones

Raphael's best friend, a human vigilante who is a bit on the crazy side.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT or Ninja Turtles) are a fictional team of four anthropomorphic turtles who were trained by their Sensei Master Splinter (an anthropomorphic mutant rat) to become powerful ninjas.

The story takes place when they are sixteen; from their home in the sewers of Manhanttan, they battle petty criminals, evil megalomaniacs, and alien invasions, all while remaining isolated from society at large.

The TMNT originated in an American comic book published by Mirage Studios in 1984. The concept was borne from a comical drawing by Kevin Eastman during a casual evening of brainstorming with his friend Peter Laird. Using money from a tax refund together with a loan from Eastman's uncle, the young artists self-published a single-issue comic intended to parody two of the most popular comics of the early 1980s: Marvel Comics' New Mutants, which featured teenage mutants, and Daredevil, which featured ninja clans dueling for control of the New York City underworld.

Much of the Turtles' mainstream success is owed to Mark Freedman, a licensing agent who sought out Eastman and Laird to propose wider merchandising opportunities for the offbeat property. In January 1987, they visited the offices of Playmates Toys, a small California toy company who wished to expand into the action figure market. Accompanied by the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series, the TMNT were soon catapulted into pop culture history. At the height of the frenzy, the Turtles' likenesses could be found on a wide range of children's merchandise, from PEZ dispensers to skateboards, breakfast cereal, and school supplies.

Today, there is a resurgence in the Turtles' popularity with the success of the recent animated series, a new line of Playmates action figures, Konami video games, and a new computer-animated feature film in production for a 2007 release.
